Mission
Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) is a St. Louis–based nonprofit organization committed to improving mental health outcomes for youth and their families through education, advocacy, and direct access to culturally responsive therapeutic care.
Vision
Our vision is a future where mental health is openly understood and supported by comprehensive school-based services, community advocacy, and youth-driven leadership. We seek to raise public awareness, reduce stigma, and provide direct access to mental health services within communities. We envision a future where every young person and family has the knowledge, support, and affordable mental health care they need to thrive.
We work towards a holistic environment where mental wellness is valued, protected, and integrated into every community where youth live, learn, and grow, through strong collaboration among community organizations, school districts, families, mental health professionals, and community leaders.
